This reading group will meet to discuss the Introduction and Chapter 4 ("Black Moves: Race, Dance, and Power") from Noémie Ndiaye's new book, Scripts of Blackness (2022). Ndiaye is the Randy L. and Melvin R. Berlin Assistant Professor of Renaissance and Early Modern English Literature at the University of Chicago. The event is sponsored by the Slavery and Visual Culture Working Group in collaboration with the Neubauer Collegium.
