The Riddle of the Sphinx
May 30, 2017

This lecture brought OPA principals Zoë Prillinger and Luke Ogrydziak to present three recently completed projects: Shapeshifter, Vortex, and Hidden House. These projects start from a single question: where does architecture come from? Current architectural culture is dominated by simple, reductive narratives that cleanly “wrap” projects for consumption. Yet reality is far more complex, rich, and deep. Generated with computational methods, these projects stage narratives based on OPA’s interest in hidden spaces, mutability, and dualities—themes that emphasize open-endedness and restlessness rather than neat summations or closure.
