The Neubauer Collegium for Culture and Society supports the broad research interests of University faculty and reflects the University's strengths and ambitions in the humanities and humanistic social sciences and their connections with other disciplines. Through an active program of research activities and visiting fellows, the Neubauer Collegium encourages pioneering research of complex problems that are beyond the scope of individual researchers or disciplines, brings researchers from around the world to collaborate with University of Chicago faculty, and projects the best ideas of University of Chicago faculty to the center of the world's debates.

As the first institution of its kind at a major research university, the Neubauer Collegium supports new research projects on a scale or of a kind difficult to achieve within previously existing university structures. Philanthropic support for the Neubauer Collegium will enable faculty to pursue new ideas and refine emerging questions, integrate humanistic scholarship with complementary research projects across and beyond the academic world, and bring global research leaders to Chicago to collaborate with our faculty, students, and community.
