The Future of the Humanities Initiative
The Neubauer Collegium’s Future of the Humanities initiative, supported by the MacArthur Foundation, invites applications for one-year projects that model promising forms for the future of humanistic research. Each team must include at least one faculty member whose principal residence is in the Chicagoland area and who is affiliated with an accredited college or university in the area.
Applications are due Sept. 15, 2026, for projects that will begin Jan. 1, 2027.
Collaborative Research Projects at the Neubauer Collegium
Each year the Neubauer Collegium supports a wide range of collaborative research into significant problems of human concern. Proposals may originate from faculty applicants in any discipline or unit of the University of Chicago. Applicants are welcome to enlist researchers from around the world.
Applications are due Oct. 19, 2026, for projects that will begin July 1, 2027.
