Ahmed Kamal Junina is Assistant Professor of Applied Linguistics and head of the English Department at Al-Aqsa University in Gaza, Palestine. He is an incoming 2026-2027 Harvard Radcliffe Institute Fellow at the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study, Harvard University. He is also a Fellow at the Centre for Comparative and International Research in Education (CIRE) at the University of Bristol, a member of the Advisory Board of the European Centre for Palestinian Studies at the University of Exeter, UK, and a MESA Global Academy Scholar (2025-2026). His scholarship and advocacy have been featured in major media outlets, including the ABC, BBC, CBS, CBC, the Independent, and the Guardian. His work focuses on higher education, academic freedom, and teaching and learning in contexts of war, displacement, and structural inequality. His recent research examines how Palestinian academics and students in Gaza sustain knowledge production amid scholasticide, infrastructural collapse, and forced displacement. He also leads initiatives such as RECONNECT and Resilient Voices, which support displaced students and youth through educational continuity, digital storytelling, and multimodal narrative practices.
