Dr. Jade Pagkas-Bather works in the nexus between community-engaged research with Black sexually minoritized men (BSMM) and antiretroviral therapy (ART) adherence along a status-neutral continuum. She works to develop strategies that limit social and environmental barriers to HIV prevention efforts. Her work utilizes implementation science and human-centered design, which is a practice rooted in empathy, for the advancement of young minoritized populations’ success along the HIV care continuum, which includes people living with and made vulnerable to HIV diagnoses. Her work is buttressed by running a low threshold clinic, R+, which provides intensive case management and small monetary incentives to people living with HIV who have been out of care or are not virally suppressed due to the SDOH that they experience.
