Biography
Jodi A. Byrd is a citizen of the Chickasaw Nation and a professor in the Department of Race, Diaspora, and Indigeneity. Their books include The Transit of Empire: Indigenous Critiques of Colonialism (Minnesota, 2011), Colonial Racial Capitalism, co-edited with Susan Koshy, Lisa Marie Cacho, and Brian Jefferson (Duke, 2022), and Indigenomicon: American Indians, Video Games, and the Structures of Dispossession (Duke, 2025).
