Cecilia Vicuña is a poet and artist who served as the 2018 Sherry Poet-in-Residence at the University of Chicago. On April 3 she delivered the Pearl Andelson Sherry Memorial Poet Lecture, at which she discussed her work in the Neubauer Collegium exhibition, Cecilia Vicuña: PALABRARmas. This was the first monographic exhibition dedicated to an important yet little-known body of work bridging the gap between Vicuña’s intertwined activities as a poet and visual artist. On April 5 Vicuña gave the Sherry Memorial Poetry Reading at the Logan Center for the Arts. Both events were sponsored by the Program in Poetry & Poetics at the University of Chicago.
