Cecilia Vicuña is a poet and artist who served as the 2018 Sherry Poet-in-Residence at the University of Chicago. On April 3, she delivered the Pearl Andelson Sherry Memorial Poet Lecture, at which she discussed her work in the Neubauer Collegium exhibition, Cecilia Vicuña: PALABRARmas. This was the first monographic exhibition dedicated to an important yet little-known body of work bridging the gap between Vicuña’s intertwined activities as a poet and visual artist. On April 5, Vicuña gave the Sherry Memorial Poetry Reading at the Logan Center for the Arts. Both events were sponsored by the Program in Poetry & Poetics at the University of Chicago.
