To celebrate the publication of The Voice as Something More: Essays Toward Materiality, coedited by Martha Feldman and Judith Zeitlin (University of Chicago Press, 2019), many of the contributors to the volume, who were also original members of The Voice Project faculty research seminar supported by the Neubauer Collegium (2013-2016), reconvened for a roundtable discussion of the issues that animated the project and an exploration of new research directions.

The Voice Project

This project supported vigorous dialogue about the role of voice—its ontological, material, technical, and embodied nature—across disciplines, from psychoanalysis and phenomenology to linguistics, music, literature, and beyond.
