Biography

Chengxin Chen is a Research Fellow at the Institute of Political Science, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. She is also a Visiting Scholar in the Department of Political Science at the University of Chicago. Her research focuses on democratic politics, governance evaluation, and political culture. She was a visiting scholar in South Centre, Geneva, and was in charge of the project study "UNEP Institutional Reform and Its Imapact on Developing Countries.” Her books include Discourse Construction of Political Consciousness (awarded the Outstanding Academic Newcomer by Ministry of Education, PRC), Crossing the Urbanization Governance Barriers (funded by CASS Major Nation Research Project), and Power Shifts and Global Governance Challenges: Perspectives from North and South. As a think tank researcher, she has also written dozens of academic articles and policy papers.
