Biography

Yang Dai is an assistant professor of political science in the School of Public Administration, Sichuan University, China. Her research interests include institutional analysis, the transformation of authoritarian regimes, representative politics in China, and NGOs and political reform in China. Some of her works have been published in journals such as Narrative and Analysis: New Institutionalism in Chinese Politics and Twenty-First Century (Chinese University of Hong Kong, 2009). During her residency as a 2015-2016 Neubauer Collegium Visiting Fellow, her work concentrated on political bargaining over institutional choice and the causal mechanisms of initial conditions and institutional divergence.
