Sheila Fitzpatrick, Professor at the University of Sydney and Distinguished Service Professor Emerita of the University of Chicago, is one of the world's leading scholars of Soviet history. Her recent books include Tear off the Masks! Identity and Imposture in Twentieth-Century Russia (2005), A Spy in the Archives: A Memoir of Cold-War Russia (2014), and On Stalin’s Team: the Years of Living Dangerously in Soviet Politics (2015). Her memoir/history of her husband, Mischka’s War: A European Odyssey of the 1940s, was published in 2017, as was a fourth edition of her classic social history The Russian Revolution. Her project as a Visiting Fellow at the Neubauer Collegium focused on Russian and Western responses to the centenary of the Russian Revolution.
