Kai Ihns is the author of two books of poems, Of (The Elephants/Fonograf Editions, 2024) and sundaey (Propeller Books, 2020), as well as a number of pamphlets and chapbooks. She also works as an editor and researcher, and has held roles at venues including the Paris Review, Conjunctions, and Chicago Review. Her research focuses on forms of reflexivity and orientational prosody in contemporary experimental poetry and film. Other projects include The Year, a chapbook press. Ihns received her PhD from the University of Chicago in 2023, and she was a Visiting Assistant Professor at the Iowa Writers' Workshop in the spring of 2026. During her residency at the Neubauer Collegium, she is collaborating as a member of the research team on the Arts Labs project.
