Biography

Dr Marta Klekotko - assistant professor at the Institute of Sociology, Jagiellonian University. Visiting scholar at the University of Chicago and the State University of New York at Buffalo. Winner of The Florian Znaniecki Prize and The Jan Józef Lipski Prize. Member and collaborator of Scenes Working Group at the University of Chicago. Author of numerous publications on processes of community transformation and local development. Her research interests cover community studies, development studies, cultural mechanisms of development, as well as problems of socio-political empowerment, with particular emphasis on the impact of arts and culture upon social inclusion and local political process. Member of the International Sociological Association and European Sociological Association.
