About

The Neubauer Collegium cultivates communities of inquiry at the University of Chicago. Our faculty-led research projects bring together scholars and practitioners whose collaboration is required to address complex human challenges. Our Visiting Fellows program brings the best minds from around the world for collaboration, animating the intellectual and creative environment on campus. Our gallery presents art exhibitions in the context of academic research, and our public events invite broad engagement with the scholarly inquiries we support. The aim of these activities is to deepen knowledge about the world and our place in it.

“The Neubauer Collegium is founded on the conviction that humanistic inquiry is essential to any serious effort to address our most challenging social problems. Intellectual creativity is often a product of unconventional collaborations – both among humanists and between humanists, social scientists, scientists, artists, practitioners, and policymakers. The Neubauer Collegium’s mission is to inspire and support such research. Our work is both faculty-driven and outward-looking. Through our collaborative research projects, we seek to foster partnerships across the entire University and into the broader community. Through our Visiting Fellows program, we aim to bring the world to Chicago. Together, these initiatives encourage the emergence of new research methods, new fields of inquiry, and new ways of thinking.”
