Biography

For 30 years, artist Kelly Richardson has been raising the alarm using digital technology to make artworks centered on environmental issues and our relationship to the planet. Her projects ask viewers to consider what it is that we truly value and where we might go from here. Recent solo exhibitions include Dundee Contemporary Arts (Scotland), Naturhistorisches Museum Wien (Austria), CAG Vancouver (Canada), and Albright-Knox Art Gallery (USA). Film festivals and group exhibitions include Sundance Film Festival (USA), TIFF (Canada), Galway Film Fleadh (Ireland), York Mediale (England), and the biennales of Beijing (China), Busan (South Korea), Gwangju (South Korea), and Montreal and Canada. Richardson is Professor of Visual Arts at the University of Victoria. She is a member of the collective Hase’, which works closely with the Awi’nakola Foundation.
